Amongst the various sections that make up Petaling Jaya, SS2 is considered as one of the largest as well as the most populous area. The Chinese community in SS2 makes up a large percentage of the overall population in that particular area. Located at the SS2 Commercial Centre is both the SS2 food court and McDonald’s which are the landmarks for SS2. As a township you will also find that SS2 has a variety of good quality link housing units as well as bungalows and of course you will be able to find facilities that are common to a housing area such as schools which are actually located in neighboring areas of SS2 such as SS22, SS20 and SS3. Places of worship are also available for the devotees to pray and churches and temples are locared in SS3 and SS23 while mosques can be found in SS1 and SS3. There is also a lot of ‘Pasar Malam’ or night markets that are held in the PJ section of SS2, every Monday you will find one on Jalan SS2/6 while on Thursadys, another night market is held in Jalan SS2/10. And during Sundays you will find night markets being held in Jalan SS24 and Section 20. The ‘Pasar Malam’ or night market is just like a flea market where you can find a variety of goods and items. This means that buyers can bargain for the items as compared to shopping complexes where the items that are on displayed are usually fixed price unless of course if there is a sale.

SS2 is also renowned for its good selection of restaurants that serve excellent food in particular is that of Chow Yan Restaurant that is located on Jalan SS2/45. For party goers you will find that the Song Bird Karaoke Lounge best suited for you. It is located at the Ceasar Club Building in Jalan SS2/60.

There are business and industrial areas which are situated close by and they can be easily accessed. Major shopping complexes are also situated near by such as 1 Utama and the Atria Shopping Centre located in SS22.

The southern end of SS2 can be accessed by the Putra Kelana Jaya LRT line, at the Taman Bahagia LRT station. If you are driving then you can access these areas by using the Federal Highway and the North South Highway.

Petaling Jaya, due to its logistic location with Kuala Lumpur hosts many business centres in the city.
